Hedda Roterud Amundsen fremfører en bearbeidet versjon av en tidligere performance, nå under tittelen The Advantages of Depression (because I’m worth it). Kunstneren har denne gangen med seg KAT (Katarina Skjønsberg), som lydsetter Amundsens følelsesladde tekster. Publikum kan forvente seg et steinhardt, sårt og humoristisk lydlandskap når de to utøverne inntar Kunstbanken.
The Advantages of Depression er et pågående prosjekt, som Amundsen formidler gjennom performance, artistbooks, installasjoner og skulpturelle arbeider. Prosjektet som helhet består av en rekke sammenstillinger av en fysisk samling (steiner), en digital samling (skjermdump av undertekster fra “TV”) og fiksjonaliserte dagboksnotater.
Denne performancen er ikke egnet for barn, da den inneholder uttalelser om bl.a. sex, selvskading og vold.
Kunstnerskapet til Hedda Roterud Amundsen (f.1989) er forankret i menneskemøter, feltarbeid, samarbeidsprosjekter og tverrfaglighet. Gjennom film, lyd, foto, tekst, installasjon og performance undersøker hun begreper som solidaritet, funksjon og medmenneskelighet.
Amundsen har en BFA fra Lasalle College of the Arts (Singapore, 2009 – 2012) og MFA fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo (Norge, 2012 – 2014). Hun bruker medier som veksler mellom å være digitale og analoge og som inkluderer performance, skulptur, poesi, fotografi og kunstnerbøker. Enkeltverk inngår ofte i totale installasjoner gjennom ulike konstellasjoner og titler.
Musiker:
Katarina Skjønsbergs sammensatte musikalske uttrykk observerer og utforsker psykologiske og sosiopolitiske sammenhenger. Med solo- og gruppeutstillinger i inn- og utland utfordrer Skjønsberg forholdet mellom representasjon, solidaritet og deling av opplevelser – både i kunstproduksjonen og i utstillingssammenheng.

Hedda Roterud Amundsen performs an edited version of an earlier performance, now under the title The Advantages of Depression (because I’m worth it). This time Amundsen has invited KAT (Katarina Skjønsberg) to add sound to her emotional texts. The public can expect a rock-hard, painful and humorous soundscape when the performers occupy Kunstbanken.
The Advantages of Depression is an ongoing project, which Amundsen presents through performance, artist books, installations and sculptural works. The project as a whole consists of a series of compilations of a physical collection (stones), a digital collection (screenshots of subtitles from “TV”) and fictionalized diary notes.
This performance is not suitable for children, as it contains statements about sensitive subjects like sex, self-harm and violence.
Hedda Roterud Amundsen´s (b.1989) artistic practice is rooted in human encounters, fieldwork, collaborative projects and interdisciplinary work. Through film, sound, photography, text, installation and performance, she investigates concepts such as solidarity, function and humanity.
